Harry gritted his teeth and felt his temper begin to rise inside him.
How dare Thomas do that? The boy was checking out Julia!
It was bad enough that his daughter was turning heads left and right at Hogwarts, but to have Thomas Lupin, godson of Harry Potter, look at Julia the way Harry used to look at Ginny...
"Ginny," he muttered to his wife, who was sitting next to him on the sofa, "does Julia have a boyfriend?" It was a father's right to know this information, wasn't it?
She cleared her throat. "She did."
"Who?"
"Temper, temper, my dear," she teased. "Don't you remember she saw Benjamin Finch-Fletchly for awhile?"
"She did?" Harry could feel the panic attack starting. "Who else?" His voice was unnaturally high and Ginny giggled softly at him
"Only one other. Christopher Finnigan--"
"Oh PLEASE tell me she didn't date Seamus' son? Oh, Merlin," he exclaimed as he sprung from his seat, "she had better not have done anything with him, or so help me..." He began to storm off toward his daughter's room.
"Harry!" She reached up and yanked his arm, pulling him back to the sofa. "She went on three dates with him, that's all."
"And how do you know this?" He felt himself deflate a bit as he realized that his little girl didn't tell him everything anymore.
"Harry," she soothed, "she writes to me. Do you really expect a fifteen-year-old girl to tell her father about this sort of thing?"
"YES! I have a right to know, Ginny."
"Harry, think about it. You're Harry Potter. Do you realize how intimidating that can be to a young man wanting to court your daughter?"
She was right, of course.
"Besides, she's working on someone else." Harry noted the smile she was trying to hide.
"Really? And who would that be?" he asked. He had a sneaking suspicion who it was, but needed to hear it from her.
"Thomas," she muttered so he could barely hear her. "She's had a crush on him for a long time. Remember what we were like at that age?" She smirked evilly at him.
"Yes! And that's what's bothering me! Just tell her not to wear tank tops and old flannel boxer shorts in front of him, please?"
Harry let his thoughts drift back to the night in the common room when he knew that what he felt for her was definitely more than friendship.
"Oh, yes...that little trick worked wonders, didn't it?"
His jaw dropped.
"What?"
