Summary: A Missing Moment from HBP after Gryffindor wins the Quidditch Cup.
Harry and Ginny take a walk toward the lake and find out what to do with this new relationship.

The portrait hole opened and he stepped out of it, with her right on his heels. 'What do I do now?' he asked himself. He stopped and looked at her, noticing the redness around her lips where he had just kissed her in front of the entire Gryffindor House. "Do you want to go take a walk?" he asked.
"Sure," she replied, taking his hand in hers.
They walked down the six flights of stairs in silence, making him feel awkward. At the large, oak doors of the Great Hall, he stopped and asked, "Are you okay with this? I mean, let's just get something out in the open, okay?" She nodded. "I really like you. I mean maybe more than like you and that I'm not upset that I kissed you."
"Uh-huh." Her brown eyes were making him weak in the knees.
"And I really don't want to mess this up because I don't want Ron to kill me."
"He won't. Don't worry about him. I thought it was a very nice kiss." She smiled.
"Yeah?"
"Really. So are we going to take a walk? It's a nice day."
He opened the door for her and they stepped out into bright May sunshine. He looked around the grounds, and never noticed how green the grass was or how the birds sang in such a sweet, bright way. Everything seemed new and fresh.
"You do know that when we get back," he began, "everyone will assume that we're going out, right?"
She stopped and held both his hands, looking at him straight in the eyes. Her lips were so close, he could feel her breath. "Yeah, I know that."
He licked his lips, fighting the urge to lean over and kiss her again. "Do you want to? Go out with me, that is."
"Yes, I do." She smiled again.
"So where do we go?" he asked her. "Did that sound as stupid to you as it did to me?"
She was starting to giggle. "You can talk to me like you always have, you know. I'm still the same person I was before you walked into the common room. I think you know how I feel, don't you?"
"I think so," he said softly. "But why me?"
"Can we save that for some other time? I just want to take a walk with you right now." She started down toward the lake, and he followed, feeling a bit like a puppy chasing a bone.
"Okay. So who started the party?" There, safe conversation.
"Ron ran to the kitchen and told Dobby that Harry Potter had won the Quidditch Cup and that food was needed for a celebration."
"I wasn't even there!"
"Dobby didn't need to know that. You've got quite a coup going on, having a House-Elf who loves to serve you and another one who hates you and yet has to do everything you tell him. That kind of authority is attractive."
"Really. I hadn't noticed. Honestly." Girls. I don't understand them.
"So, Dobby comes up to the common room with four other elves helping him carry all your favourite foods and enough butterbeer to serve at the Three Broomsticks for a month. Then Kreacher follows him with a cake that says 'Harry Potter is a Hero' with a scowl on his face, getting him a smack in the head from Dobby." She smiled again. "It was rather humourous. Trust me."
"I can just about imagine it." They got to the edge of the lake and found a spot underneath the tree.
"Want to hear about the match?"
He shook his head. "I want to get to know you."
"You've known me for years. What's there to know?" She had a quizzical look on her face.
"I've been noticing you all year and you were always with Dean. I smelled your shampoo in the Love Potion first day with Slughorn. You crept into my dreams every night, and still you were with him. When you broke up, I thought I'd burst, but you never did anything to tell me you wanted me, too. So I just sort of waited, not knowing what to do."
"Don't look so sad. I noticed you noticing me, too. Don't laugh at me!" She playfully punched his shoulder. "That was why I broke it off with Dean. He just..."
"What?" He tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Wasn't you." She looked up at him with those chocolate eyes, and he felt himself get all tense in the belly.
"I don't understand."
"The Valentine in your second year?" He nodded. "That was me." She blushed. "I had a crush on you and I hardly was able to talk to you."
"But, why didn't you say anything?"
"I'm a girl, you dolt! We just don't go around declaring our love when we're eleven." She was laughing. "I didn't think you'd like me. You never noticed me."
"I'm sorry. I do now, and I like what I've been noticing. A lot." He took another deep breath. "That kiss up there was great. I mean, brilliant. I just don't know what I'm supposed to do. Cho was just..."
"Tearful?" He nodded. "She's messed up, Harry."
"I know. So was I. Still am, for that matter." He hung his head.
She reached over and took his chin in her hand. "Don't you dare talk about yourself like that again. You've been through more than most adults. You're entitled to have nightmares and headaches. But there is nothing wrong with you. Understand? You are smart, handsome, funny, athletic and an all around nice guy despite what your aunt and uncle did to you. Yes, you can be a little devil every now and then, but that's what's so charming about you, Harry. You are perhaps the most normal famous wizard in the world."
"You think I'm handsome?" He didn't hear her right, did he? "And charming?" He smiled at her.
"Yes. There are a lot of girls who'd give anything to run their hands through your hair like this." She ran her fingers through his hair. "Or run a finger across your scar like this." She showed him. "Or kiss you, like this." She leaned forward, closing her eyes as she softly kissed his lips, sending tingles up and down his spine. She pulled back, and his eyes fluttered. "You are so very special, and you deserve to be happy."
He leaned forward, meeting her and kissing her again. He opened his mouth and she inched her tongue along his. His arms found their way around her waist and pulled her to him and she wrapped her arms around his neck. The kiss deepened as they explored each other's mouths. He loved the taste of her and kept kissing her as if his life depended on it. She began to pull on his t-shirt, and he let her, craving her touch. Her hands caressed his back and shoulders, causing those tingles to come back. He touched her cheek and pulled away from her. She looked surprised and a little hurt.
"I don't want to..." He couldn't think of the right words.
"I understand. Really." She looked up at him shyly. "I just waited so long for this day to come and I guess I got carried away."
"Don't be sorry. I don't ever want you to regret any of the time we spend together. One thing I've learned is that life is too short to dwell on what ifs. I want to enjoy every minute that you and I are together." He leaned in and kissed her again. It felt so right, so natural and nothing else mattered in the world.
